PRIVACY AT PRESENCE

Your photo should never be a mystery.

This notice explains what Presence processes, when a photo leaves your device, which services help deliver the experience, and how you can remove locally saved data.

Effective July 20, 2026 Last updated July 21, 2026

NO ACCOUNT

No sign-up or profile

Presence does not ask for your name, email address, or an account.

ON YOUR DEVICE

Live checks stay local

The continuous camera stream and live framing checks are not sent to our server.

YOU DECIDE

One deliberate upload

A prepared photo is sent only after you select “Build my report.”
01

Who this notice covers

This notice applies to the Presence web service maintained by the Presence team.

Presence helps people prepare a camera setup for interviews, meetings, presentations, and profile photos. It does not identify you, authenticate your identity, or make decisions that have legal or similarly significant effects.

02

Data we process

The data involved depends on the feature you choose. Presence does not collect an account profile. It uses Vercel Web Analytics to understand aggregate visits and site usage.

Live camera frames

Used in browser memory to check face visibility, position, brightness, and background variation. The continuous stream is not uploaded to our server.

Captured or uploaded photo

Prepared and compressed in your browser, then sent to our analysis endpoint only when you request a report. A photo can reveal facial and appearance-related information.

Analysis inputs and results

Brightness, selected language and scenario, readiness scores, color information, and practical guidance are used to create and display your report. Presence does not use face recognition to determine identity.

Browser preferences and comparison data

Language and scenario preferences are stored in localStorage. If you choose to recapture and compare, the first photo and report are also stored in localStorage on that browser.

Hosting and request logs

Our hosting provider may process IP address, request time, browser or device information, and diagnostic logs needed to deliver and secure the site.

Usage analytics

Vercel Web Analytics processes page URL, referrer, browser and device details, approximate location, and visit information. Presence does not send photos, camera frames, or report contents through this analytics integration.

03

Why and when we process it

We process data to provide the camera check you start, prepare the image, generate the report you request, remember your language and scenario, enable before-and-after comparison, understand aggregate site usage, and keep the service reliable and secure.

Camera access requires your browser permission. Uploading or capturing a photo does not start remote analysis by itself; selecting “Build my report” starts the request. You can cancel before that step.

When API credentials are not configured, Presence returns a demo report and does not send the photo to YouCam. Presence does not intentionally write uploaded photos to its own database or permanent file storage, and the Presence team does not use submitted photos or reports to train its own model.

04

Services that help us process data

Presence currently relies on the services below. Their infrastructure may process data outside your country. Their own terms and privacy notices govern processing on their systems.

Perfect Corp. / YouCam API

In live-analysis mode, the prepared photo is uploaded for skin and tone analysis and the result is returned to Presence. Perfect Corp.’s current documents govern its storage, retention, deletion, and international processing.

Vercel

Hosts the web app and server endpoint and provides Web Analytics. Vercel may process request, IP, page URL, referrer, browser, device, approximate location, usage, security, and diagnostic information.

jsDelivr and Google-hosted MediaPipe assets

Your browser downloads the MediaPipe runtime and face-landmark model from these providers. They may receive normal network request information such as an IP address. Presence does not send your camera frames to those asset hosts.

05

Retention and deletion

Live camera frames and the current working photo remain in browser memory for the active experience and are discarded when the page state is cleared or the tab is closed. Our server handles an analysis upload for the request and does not intentionally persist it in a Presence database.

Language and scenario preferences remain in localStorage until you change or clear browser site data. A comparison photo and report remain only after you choose to recapture; selecting “Start over” removes that comparison record. Clearing site data in your browser removes all Presence localStorage.

Hosting logs, Web Analytics data, and other data processed by external providers follow each provider’s retention rules. We cannot delete data held independently under a provider’s policy through the Presence interface.

06

Your choices and rights

You can deny camera permission and choose a file instead, leave before requesting a report, select “Start over” to clear comparison data, or clear this site’s storage in your browser.

Presence does not yet provide a private privacy-support channel. Do not share a photo, analysis result, or other sensitive information through unrelated external channels.

07

Security, cookies, and children

The production deployment is intended to use HTTPS, the YouCam API key remains server-side, and images are reduced in size in the browser before upload. No safeguard eliminates every risk, so do not upload a photo you are not comfortable having processed by the providers listed above.

Presence does not currently set its own cookies or include an advertising SDK. It includes Vercel Web Analytics for the limited usage data described above and uses localStorage for preferences and comparison data.

Presence is not directed to children under 14. A child under 14 should not upload a photo without consent and supervision from a parent or legal guardian.

08

Contact and changes

Presence does not currently provide a public or private privacy-support channel. Do not share sensitive information through unrelated external channels.

If the data flow, providers, or storage behavior changes, we will revise this notice and update the date shown above. Material changes should be presented before the new processing starts.
